These terms are the agreement between you and Baantlo (“we”, “us”) for the use of the Baantlo app and this website. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use Baantlo.
1. What Baantlo is
Baantlo lets an admin record shared bills for a building, hostel or shared house, split them between selected members, record payments, and produce monthly statements. Everything it shows is calculated from what users enter.
2. What Baantlo is not
- It is not a payment processor. Money moves between you and your members by your own means — cash, bank transfer or a mobile wallet — never through Baantlo.
- It is not financial, legal, tax or accounting advice.
- It does not verify that a recorded payment actually happened, or that a bill is genuine.
- It does not create, enforce or arbitrate any debt between members.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Baantlo.
- Give accurate details when signing up, and keep your sign-in method secure.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account.
- Tell us promptly at hello@baantlo.com if you think your account has been used without your permission.
4. Buildings, admins and members
- Whoever creates a building is its admin. Admins can add and edit bills, add and remove members, record payments, manage categories, and regenerate the invite code.
- Admins may promote other members to admin. Anyone with admin rights can change the ledger.
- Members can see the building's bills, splits and balances, and their own statements.
- An invite code lets anyone holding it join that building. Share it only with people who should see the building's data, and regenerate it if it leaks.
- Admins are responsible for the accuracy of what they enter and for treating members fairly. Disputes about amounts, shares or payments are between the members of the building — we are not a party to them.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Baantlo for anything unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive, including recording bills or payments you know to be false.
- Access a building, account or data you have not been invited to.
- Upload anything abusive, harassing, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer or circumvent the security of the service.
- Use automated means to scrape or bulk-extract data from the service.
We may suspend or remove accounts that breach these rules.
6. Your data
The building and expense data you enter remains yours. You grant us the limited permission needed to store, process and display it so the service works — for example, showing your entries to the other members of your building. Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
7. Availability and changes
Baantlo is offered on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may add, change or remove features, and we may need to take the service down for maintenance. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Keep your own export or backup of anything you cannot afford to lose — the app can export your data at any time.
8. Price
Baantlo is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features in future, we will make the price and what it covers clear before you are charged, and you will not be billed for anything you have not agreed to.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost data, or any dispute or unpaid amount between the members of a building. Our total liability for any claim relating to Baantlo is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or PKR 5,000, whichever is greater. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using Baantlo and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, or if we discontinue the service — in which case we will give reasonable notice so you can export your data.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and for material changes we will notify you in the app. Continuing to use Baantlo after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the courts of Pakistan have jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.
